RECOMMENDED READING 

A few words about these recommendations.  They are a starting point, not a finish line!  Feel free to dip into the grade above, or the grade below. 

Parents: the best and most supportive thing we can do for our children's literacy beside reading aloud to them is take them to the public library and let them choose books, without judgement, by the pile.  Like finding shells on the beach, they will make their own magical and unusual discoveries across genres and grade levels, and gain confidence in their ability to select materials.

The Northtown Branch Public Library is the closest to our school.  Oh, my goodness, I wonder if you could find a nicer public children's librarian than "Miss Amy"Amionovitch!  How lucky we are to have her in our community!
