Reading Arcade was a Smash!

The 6th grade did a fantastic job with their picture-book themed arcade games for our Day of Reading, designed after being inspired by Caine's Arcade!

We were studying illustrator style and medium anyway, so we thought it would be a perfect occasion to bring some of our favorite picture books to life.  Teams worked for weeks on their creations and shared with over two hundred primary students. So much excitement!  So much imagination!  Well done, kids!  And thanks to all the teachers and parents  and the public librarians who participated in Day of Reading, from our read-aloud camp-out to our storybook hats and dress-ups to our silent reading parties and STEAM extensions to our Summer Reading kick-off assembly starring Ms. Amy and Ms. Alex from the Northtown Branch public library, it was definitely "one of the books"!
