Helping hands!

"Many hands make light work," the saying goes.  In our "spring chicken" unit, first graders compared and contrasted Paul Galdone's traditional Little Red Hen with Philemon Sturges' zanier The Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza, and students decided what else the Red Hen might need help in making.  Sushi, cheese fries and kishke, anyone?

Speaking of helping, if you are interested in volunteering in the school library next fall, please let me know!  We have a parent library coordinator who helps to schedule and train volunteers.  We need assistance shelving and processing books and prepping crafts.  We also always welcome parents guest readers and experts.   Thanks to everyone who lent a helping hand to make this another great year in the library!
